Isela has collaborated with individuals from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds. It has been a rewarding experience for her to witness the positive changes made through counseling and to help create healthy relationships.

Isela has been trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR-trained), Play Therapy, family systems, motivational therapy, and Gottman Method Level I & II. She has experience addressing concerns with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties (couples, parent/child, siblings), grief and loss, life transitions, and trauma. Other areas of experience include providing therapy for children and adolescents in foster care, at-risk adolescents, sexual abuse, physical abuse, post-traumatic symptoms, domestic violence, and parenting.

Isela graduated from the Houston Graduate School of Theology with a Master’s in Counseling and from the University of Houston-D with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. She is presently a doctoral student in Psychology. She is fluent in both Spanish and English and can provide therapy services in both languages.

Isela enjoys spending time reading, taking walks in the neighborhood, and spending time with her family.
